Took Smo’s challenge, and went for a triple squat at 395. It seemed logical since the 385 triple wasn’t too hard. But, keep in mind, my max single is around 405 to 415 these days. Anyways, I didn’t use my better judgement, and ended up doing a 395 partial good morning. Oy! Still, hit two PRs
Squat: warmup, 315×3, 365×3, 395×2 (PR, but was aiming for 3 reps), 225×12
Bench: warmup, 225×5, 275×1, 295×1, 275×1 paused (easy), 285×1 paused (PR)
285 bench was a grinder, but it’s a PR for paused. I was actually off my game on monday, so I anticipate 285 should easily go down for comp. Might try for 295 paused in June. Keep in mind, hit a triple 285 tng last week.
Squat was super hard. 395 first rep was heavy. Second rep was a nightmare. Very lucky didn’t sprain my back (I did that back during my smolov routine, which hurt for over a week…). I thought my face exploded after I managed that second rep back up. Anyways, I still think I can hit 395 triple next time I attempt.
